Born in Cumberland, BC to William and Vera Arthurs, passed away peacefully in Echo Village on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 82 years of age.

Predeceased by 2 brothers Robert and Donald and sister-in-law Nance Arthurs, he is survived by 2 sisters, Millie Dalziel and Kate Sutherland (Sandy) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Jack grew up on his parent's dairy farm on Hornby Island and moved to Port Alberni in 1957. Former owner and operator of Greenwood Contractors, Jack spent most of his working life in logging, in and around the West Coast and it remained a large part of his life even after his retirement in 1990. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the float cabin in Kildonan, or on his boat the Sailorfish II. Jack was also a member of the local tractor club and could be seen in the parade driving his Ford tractor.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Chapel of Memories, 4005-6th Ave. Cremation has taken place. Stories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.chapelofmemories.ca.
