Welsh, Gail (Neaves). Passed away March 30, 2012 after 10 years of battling Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. Gail was born December 18, 1952 in Nova Scotia. Her family moved to Victoria, BC when she was an infant and Gail considered herself to be a true local girl. Gail had a flair for everything she did in her life. Gail's sense of humour, love of music, talented art work, keen sense of style and her strength in dealing with adversity will always be remembered by those who knew her. Gail's happiest times, especially in the last few years, were when she was with her family, husband Ian, son Colin (McTaggart), daughter Heather (McTaggart), son-in-law Byron and of course "Marley". Although Gail was an only child she had an extended family in her close friends Sandi, Maureen, and sister-in-law Shelley. We will miss her humour, those little smirks and the love Gail saved for those closest to her.
We would like to thank Dr. Sealy for his many years of compassion in helping Gail as she bravely battled Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. We also want to thank the outstanding staff of the Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion for the care and respect they showed Gail for the past 4 years, as well as Art Therapists Patty Bruce and Patty Patching for assisting Gail in pursuing her love of painting. A tea to celebrate Gail's life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson's Center or the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia would be greatly appreciated.
