MORGAN, Albert Edward (Ed) Of Sidney passed away suddenly at home, April 7, 2012. Survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Violet, son Jim (Aillen), daughter Frances (Al), grandson Alex, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Art and Linda Smith and numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn are Delee, Dave, Will and Allie in Saskatchewan and caring neighbours in Sidney. Ed was born February 24, 1922 in Gibbs Saskatchewan and served in the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II. After a brief stint as a carpenter's apprentice in New Westminster, he and Violet settled in Victoria where he joined the DND Fire Service, retiring as captain in 1985. In retirement, they enjoyed many trips throughout Canada and the US as well as abroad. Carpentry was his major pastime and many hours were spent building three houses and tinkering in his workshop. His last few years were devoted to the care of his wife. There will be no service by request, though a family gathering will be held later. The family would like to thank Drs. Aidan Byrne and John Burke (retired) for their care over the years and also RCMP officer Ross for his compassion at the scene. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital or the Mount Newton Centre. 653621
