RUSK, Harry Born May 16, 1928 in Ottawa, Harry Rusk passed away surrounded by his family on April 26, 2012. Harry is survived by his wife Margaret and by his sons Stephen and David. Harry joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1947, eventually commanding the destroyers H.M.C.S. Saskatchewan and H.M.C.S. Chaudiere. Following his navy career he worked for the British Columbia government. Always a sailor, Harry went on to skipper the family's sailboat Lark around the Gulf and San Juan Islands with Margaret. Harry always had a job to do, always had a plan, and was utterly reliable. He delighted in family, in old friends, and in friends newly-made. You always knew he was glad to see you. He will be missed by friends and family across Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. For the last two years, Harry was cared for by the kind, competent staff of Vancouver Island Health Authority and We Care Home Health Services. Thanks also to cousins Harold and Anita for supporting Harry and his family throughout. An informal gathering to remember Harry will take place at Harry and Margaret's home on Saturday, May 12 from 2-6pm. No flowers by request; for donations in Harry's memory, please consider the Victoria Hospitals Foundation. 655611
