BROOK, Mary Alice (Jean) November 9th, 1915 - June 7th, 2012 Mum passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2012 at the age of 96 with her family at her side. She leaves behind her children, Norm (Carole) Brook, Judy McGregor, and Mary (Greg Clifford) Sangha. She also leaves five grandchildren and many great grandchildren as well as loving nieces and nephew. She was pre deceased by her "Gray" sisters, Evelyn (Eddie) Lewis, Emily (Jim) de Balinhard, Molly (Ralph) Belden and son-in- law Dave Dormer. Mum was born in Russell Manitoba in 1915 and relocated to Vancouver in the late 30's where she worked at General Steel Mills during the war years. She later moved to Victoria where she raised her family while having a career with Super Value Stores. She had a passion for reading and gardening. After retirement she travelled throughout Canada and abroad with her sister, Molly. Mum had a very healthy and robust life up to the end. She was very independent and lived life her way. She was an inspiration not only to her family but all that met her. A mother, grandmother and friend that all would aspire to have. She will be remembered with great love and affection by all. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Dr. M. Miles and the staff at Glengarry Hospital who made Mum's last days as warm and peaceful as could be expected. A private celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice, in remembrance.
