MOORE, M. Joan 1924 - 2012 After 88 wonderful years and a very rich life, Joan (Sievenpiper) Moore passed peacefully on Friday, November 2nd, 2012. Born in Vancouver, to Stanley and Alma Sievenpiper, Joan and her brothers, Peter and Bill, grew up on the south shore of Deer Lake in Burnaby. In 1946, Joan married the love of her life, Dinty Moore, and they lived at the lake for 50 years, raising four daughters and creating many wonderful memories. Joan and Dinty shared a love of the great outdoors and hiked, canoed and camped throughout BC, often with the girls in tow. An excellent cook, Joan hosted many Sunday dinners, filling the house with family and friends. Her beautiful gardens were a source of pleasure for her and it is where she gave her best advice. Joan had a full and busy life while raising her family, but still found time to volunteer for many organizations within the community. Her sweetheart Dinty, her daughters Linda, Tish, Kathy and Anne, their families, and her five great grandchildren will dearly miss Joannie. The family will mark her passing with a private celebration. Should friends desire, the family asks that you kindly support the Stanley Sievenpiper Bursary Endowment Fund at SFU, or a charity of your choice.
