BROOKS, John Charles April 9, 1920 - November 11, 2012 Born in Victoria on April 9, 1920, Jack died peacefully and fittingly on November 11, 2012 at the age of 92. He was a proud Veteran of WWII and the Korean War RAF. He is survived by his stepchildren, Denise (Gordon) Ashmore, Marnie (Bill) Penny, Carl (Dee) Ovcharick; nephew, Larry Robbins and Niece, Margo Houston, along with 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Doreen Ovcharick in 2011. Jack retired from the Highway's Department in 1983 and enjoyed fishing, prawning and golf. Doreen and Jack spent many winters in Phoenix, Arizona but Jack's greatest joys were family and friends and the odd joke or two. Our special thanks to the E.R. Nurses of Saanich Peninsula Hospital and special friends, Larry (Elaine), Ben (Jackie), John (Ellen), Ardo (Jan), Chris, his "Committee Members" and the Ardmore neighbours. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saanich Peninsula Hospital, 2166 Mt. Newton Cross Road. Victoria, BC V8M 2B2.
