Else was born in 1918 in Amersfoort, The Netherlands and emigrated to Canada with her late husband, Jan Menting, in 1955. A graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Else taught piano for many years at the Victoria Conservatory of Music until her retirement in 1990. Else attended Central Baptist Church and donated many hours to the church library. Else was a devoted mother and daughter, had a wonderful sense of humour, and enjoyed studying ancient history. She is survived by her two daughters: Eveline Stang (Gary) of Nevada and Joyce Ellwood (Wayne) of Victoria and their families; her sister Trees Woodley of Wales; her nieces Frances Petith (Tom) and Pamela Creed (Rob) both of Wales and their families. She is survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A private family memorial will be held at a future date. Else will be missed dearly by all of us.
