McLACHLAN, Ruth Ursula Born December 15th, 1923 in Konigsberg, Germany to John & Bertha Harward, passed away peacefully January 6, 2013. Predeceased by her beloved husband Samuel (1991) and dearest son Craig (2010). She is survived by her daughter-in-law Myra, daughter Ellen (Jim), grandchildren: Catherine, Jeanine, Cesare & Natasha; great-grandchildren: Marcus & Quinton, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, great-great nieces, nephews, sister-in-law and many friends. Ruth immigrated to Canada from Germany with her parents at age three. She had a lengthy career in retail (ladies fashion) which explains why she was always immaculately dressed. Ruth was a 40+ year survivor of breast cancer and early radical radiation therapy. She was an incredibly courageous woman with an inner strength and kindness rarely seen. Although she will be greatly missed by those that she touched, we know she is happily reunited with Sam & Craig. We would like to thank Dr. Ted Rosenberg for caring for Ruth in her final months. Rest in peace Ruth. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 25th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Royal Oak Burial Park. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
