I just learnt of Newell's passing as I have lived in Ottawa for the last 12 years. I fondly remember my work and association with him when I served as Ministerial Assistant to Don Philips way back in 1980-82. Newell was Chair of the BC Development Corp at the time. Newell was always so kind to me and all others; a really fine gentlemam. I had not seen him in years but my belated condolences to all his family. Mike Donison

Marjorie and family, I am saddened to learn of Newell's passing. My history with Lowell stretches back to our days in the BC Legislature. I will never forget the day Newell too Charlie, Brandy and I flying to Hudson in his plane. Half way up the plane nose suddenly rose very quickly; Newell was letting Brandy fly - and she was 10!!!! Warm regards, Darlene White

Marj and family:
IMHO, Newell was the most ethical and honest new car dealer. On top of that, he was a gentleman and was fun to be with.
An appointment with a specialist here in Nanaimo will make my attending the service impossible. I will be there in spirit.
Sincerely,
Dick
