Keith Sadler Obituary

Passed away peacefully at home on Feb 16, 2017, after a short battle with leukemia. Born in Calgary, AB, Dec 22, 1937. Predeceased by his parents James and Doris Sadler and Frank and Kay Andres, (in-laws) big brother Jim (Ruth) and brother-in-law John. Survived by his sisters Miriam and Sylvia, brothers Gill (Hilda), Colin (Marge), sisters-in-law Evelyn, Marlene and many nieces and nephews. Keith leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Grace, four children, Doug (Marlise), Yvonne (Tom), Barry (Nicola) and Vicki (Steve), 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

A dedicated businessman in Victoria for 34 years, Keith was best known for operating K. Sadler Foods (distributor for Hostess Frito Lay) on Vancouver Island. After retiring, Keith and Grace spent many years splitting their time between their family home in Victoria, BC and Palm Springs, CA. Keith enjoyed daily golf and held memberships at Gorge Vale in Victoria and Heritage Palms in Palm Springs. A talented golfer, Keith scored a 79 this past September. He is certainly missed on the course already. A dedicated gardener, fisherman and musician, Keith was always busy. He will be remembered for his quick wit and tenacity but most of all for the deep love he held for his family. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 25, 1:00pm at the Gorge Vale Golf Club, 1005 Craigflower Rd, Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Grace,Shirley and I will miss him. Especially me manning the pinin the dark because I was wearing a white shirt and he could fire at me,and I had such confidence in his ability that I agreed, or maybe too many beers. I loved hin like a brother.Bill McIlwraith

Will miss Keith and his passion for golf and his unique personality. Did not know Keith as a younger man but know he would have been a loyal friend and the type of guy you could count on. I first met him playing poker ( which he was great at) at his California winter home six years ago and his outgoing personality and shoot from the hip conversation made him very engaging. His competitive side made him a good athlete and a fun guy to golf with. It was a pleasure to have been a friend and to have spent time with Keith

Sympathy to your family on the loss of Keith. I attended Esquimalt High School with Keith during the 1950's. He was a kind person and a gentleman.
