Cindy K. White Cindy Kay Duke White, 50, Waterloo, Alabama, passed away Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015. The visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m. at 1st Baptist Church, Waterloo, Alabama. The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at 2 p.m. at 1st Baptist Church, Waterloo, Alabama, with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Bumpus Creek Cemetery. Mrs. White was preceded in death by parents, Mable Nell and Leland Benard Duke, father of her children, Jerry White, and brother, Tony Duke. She is survived by her daughters, Toni and Maria White; brother, Leland B. Duke Jr.; and the loves of her life, her granddaughters, Mayleigha and Makenzye White. Louis A. Winter SHEFFIELD Louis Arnold Winter, 70, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Glendale Cemetery, Leighton.

Ruth M. West Ruth Malone West, age 92, of Russellville, Alabama, passed away Jan. 28, 2015. The visitation will be Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, from 10 a.m. until noon at Akins Funeral Home followed by a family graveside service at 1 p.m. at Franklin Memory Garden. Officiating will be Brother Bert Fowler. Interment will be at Franklin Memory Garden. Pallbearers will be nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laney L. West, parents, Orland and Minne Malone, and son, Larry J. West. She is survived by her children, Jan Monroe and husband, Bo, and Ben West; stepgranddaughter, Brooke Carruthers; great step granddaughters, Scout Carruthers and Neely Carruthers; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. West was well-known in the area for her creativity as a seamstress creating costumes for Looneys Tavern Productions also sewing for local bands, and etc. Akins Funeral Home will assist the family.
