Mrs. Helen C. Blalock, of Florence, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greenview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Greg Barnett officiating. The family will visit with friends after the service.
Mrs. Blalock was an active member of St. John United Methodist Church since 1958. She taught the Susanna Wesley Class for more than 30 years. She was an active member of Laureate Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1945.
During her 38 working years, she was employed doing secretarial work at TVA, Robbins Tire and Rubber Co., Collier Library at UNA, Howell Heflin and the office of the city administrator of the city of Florence, retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Blalock is survived by sisters, Evelyn Bennett and Mildred Hanback, of Florence; nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Leona Sherlin Cole and Claude Cole, and husbands, Clifford Wright, who was killed in the invasion of France in World War II, and Sanders Blalock, who died in 1993. They were married 37 years.
Pallbearers will be Chris Kyle, Billy Kyle, Sam Hanback, Hartis Hanback, Brian Howell and Doug Parker.
