James C. Keeton
James C. "Jack" Keeton, age 85, of Florence, passed quietly from this life to a new life on June 17, 2013. Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church of Christ. The service will follow at 1 p.m. in the church with Brother Robert Huffaker and Brother Rodney Rice officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be elders and deacons of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
Jack was born Dec. 29, 1927, in Lauderdale County to Ellie and Nelli Keeton. They both preceeded him in death along with his beloved son, Jeffery Mark, three sisters and two brothers.
He married Mary Wright, the love of his life, on Dec. 19, 1947. He was a very loving Christian husband, daddy, granddaddy and great-granddaddy. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy
, retired from Reynolds Metals Co. and a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 ½ years, Mary Wright Keeton; daughter, Susan Riley (Steve); son, Greg (girlfriend, Constance); also brother, Clifford; and sister, Peggy Swinea; and a number of nephews and nieces; grandchildren, Tim Riley, Tina Anderson (Jimmy) and Alana Keeton; also four great-granddaughters, Haley Riley, Amanda, Kayleigh and Allison Anderson.
