James Sidney Kelley, 96, of Florence, died Saturday Jan. 25, 2014, at ECM Hospital following an extended illness. Visitation will be today beginning at 1 p.m. in Greenview Funeral Home followed by the service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. J. C. Simms will officiate. Burial will follow in Blue Water Cemetery.
Mr. Kelley was a retired pipefitter with Pipefitters Local #760.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Sidney and Maude Kelley, wife, Freda Kelley, son, James "Dub" Kelley, three grandsons, one brother and four sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Edith "Susie" Wanner (Jackie), Gloria Mae Murphy and Shelia Kelley Price (Ricky), all of Florence; grandchildren, Derek Price, Florence, Stephanie Thrasher Peeden, Leoma, Tenn., Tina Williams, Florence, Joe Wanner, Florence, Allan Wanner, Iron City, Tenn., Danny, Leslie, Timmy, and Frankie Murphy, Jeff and John Kelley, all of Florence; 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Derek Price, Dakota Peeden, Leslie Murphy, Danny Murphy, Timmy Murphy and Joseph Wanner. Honorary pallbearers well be from Local #760: Bobby Hendon, Kenneth Bailey, Wes Emmons, Ralph Emmons, Ronnie Bratton and Ron Albright.
