Mickey Hendon, 56, of Florence, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from noon until 2 p.m. at Faith Church. The service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Brother Steve Huskey officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mickey was a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was the owner of Hendon Septic Tank and Backhoe Service. He enjoyed watching sports, grilling on "The Patio" with close friends and assisting those in his community in times of trouble and need.
Mickey is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilmer and Rachel Hendon and Hollis and Bessie Davis; and father-in-law, Jack D. Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, whom he adored, Angie Parker Hendon; his son, Jake (Lesley); and his beloved granddaughter, Blakely Jewel, all of Mountain Brook; his parents, Sonny and Dorothy Hendon; brother, Ronnie (Donna); sisters, Becky (Randy) Pickens, Barbara (John) Connors, Peggy Mabry, Suzy (Barry) Scott; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews; mother-in-law, Kathleen Parker; brother-in-law, Michael D. Parker; and godchildren, Preslei and Garrett Williams, of Huntsville.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Agee, Steve Bevis, Steve Grissom, Joe Dale Harris, Kenneth Hayes, Robert James, Todd Jaroszewski and Will Little.
