Mildred Coffman, age 68, passed away Sept. 13, 2007, at El Reposo Nursing Home.
The funeral services for Mildred Coffman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Elkins East Chapel. Burial will follow at Pettus Cemetery. Brother John Davis will officiate. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Friday.
Mrs. Coffman was a 1957 graduate of Lexington High School and a member of North Side Church of Christ in Lexington, Ala.
Mrs. Coffman was preceded in death by her husband, Bradford L. Coffman; parents, William and Lillie Thigpen; brother, A.W. Thigpen; sister, Mary Elizabeth Smith.
She is survived by daughters, Donna Coffman (Dwight Cagle), Karen Matlock (Craig Hunter), Jerrie Belew (John), Susan Rhea (Larry); sons, Phillip Coffman (Sherry), William Coffman; honorary son, James Killen; honorary sister, Jackie Killen; brothers, Roy Thigpen (Carnell), James Thigpen (Brenda), Johnny Thigpen (Sandra); brother-in-law, Ronnie Smith; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean Thigpen; grandchildren, Tony Coffman (Katrina), Matthew King, Brittney Hice (Will Echols), Jeremy Coffman, Ashley Coffman, Katie Belew, Dakota Stowe, Bradley Stowe, Kyle Coffman, Joshlyn Rhea; two great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; a host of loving nieces and nephews; and a little dog, Ginger.
Pallbearers will be George Erwin, Dale Jones, Jeffery Smith, Jeff Stowe, Craig Hunter and Jerome Thigpen.
The Coffman family would like to thank Dr. Edsel Holden, Dr. Felix Morris, the staff of ECM Hospital and the staff of Tennessee Valley Hospice, Cindy Juelfs, Teresa Cagle and Holly West, for all the love and care given to our mother during her illness and time of need.
In lieu of flowers, make donations in loving memory of Mildred Nell Coffman to the Linda Kay Thigpen Scholarship Fund at Lexington High School.
