Arnold A. English

Arnold Aaron English, 87, of Killen, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at the Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Killen.

Mr. English served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was stationed in Hawaii where he guarded prisoners. Upon his discharge, he worked briefly at Elkins Funeral Home before becoming a lineman with TVA where he worked for 39 years. After retirement, he worked as a security guard for Brown Engineering in Huntsville.

He is survived by his son, Neil English and wife, Carol; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Mr. English was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" English; and six brothers; and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be family members.
