Charles F. Adomyetz, age 78, of Cloverdale, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday May 5, 2012, after an extended illness.
The Guest Book is expired.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Christ Chapel in Florence. A celebration service will follow at 2 p.m., with Doc Shell and Gary Cosby officiating. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Charles was a loving husband for more than 53 years, and a devoted father and granddaddy. He was a member of Christ Chapel Church and also a member of Gideons International. Giving out Bibles was one of his greatest joys.
Charles was a farmer at heart. For many years he farmed all day raising Hereford cattle and various crops. In the evenings he would work at Ford Motor Co. After retirement he continued to farm. He had a green thumb that wouldn't quit! Growing a garden was hard work that he enjoyed to the fullest. He loved flowers, especially the roses he tended in the yard. Charles was a people person who loved spending time with his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his wife, Shelba Adomyetz; one daughter, Cindy Wright and husband, Chuck, of Florence; one son, Tim Adomyetz, of Yukon, Okla. He had one grandson, Joey Wright. Charles leaves behind one brother, John W. Adomyetz, of Killen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Idell Adomyetz.
The family would like to honor all of our wonderful friends and helpers who have walked with us during Charles' illness. The prayer warriors who have prayed for us are too many to count. There have been so many who have encouraged, visited and prepared food during these years. You know who you are, and we thank you so much for your faithfulness in being there whether it was at home, hospital, cancer center or rehab. We couldn't have made it without our precious friends and relatives.
We especially want to thank Dr. Ricky Irons for years of loving care and compassion for Charles. We won't forget Alacare Home Health and later Gentivia Home Health and their nurse, Jane Biffle, and CNA Jean Marie Siegel for their love and compassion. Just recently Charles received wonderful care from Hospice of the Shoals.
We thank God most of all for His presence with us! Relying on Him during these difficult times is what has gotten us through. If you are going through a rough time, God will win your battles for you! (1 Sam. 17-47 and 2 Chron. 20:15) If you read this and haven't given your life to Christ, begin with Jer. 29:13. What a comfort He has been and still is giving us peace, strength, mercies and joy during the most difficult hours. We could feel the prayers of the saints being answered!
Pallbearers are Ben Adomyetz, Paul Austin, Bill Butler, Joe Jordon, John Sandy and Joey Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Hollis Butler, Joel Cornelison, Jerry Kimbrough, Dr. Buddy Meeks, Frank Gray, Dr. Ricky Irons, Randy Whitmore, Arlon Keeton and members of the Lauderdale West Gideon Camp.
Suggested memorials may be made to Gideons International P.O. Box 336 Florence, AL 35631 to place Bibles in memory around the world.
