He is survived by his wife, Jan Patterson Adams; sister, Chris Jones, Tracy City, Tenn.; son, Jeff Epley (Robin), Justin, Brianna and Michelle, of Milwaukee, Wis.; daughter, Michelle Senseney (Jeremy), Jessie and Serena, of Stockton, Calif.; stepson, Patterson David Hood (Rebecca), Ava Ruth and Emmett, of Athens, Ga.; and stepdaughter, Lilla Hood Smith (Chris), Reed and Duncan, Vestavia Hills, Ala.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Cypress Creek Methodist Church, Florence.
A memorial service will be announced later.

My daddy was a good, strong man. I learned so much about life from him. He was my favorite person in the whole world.I didnt get to see him much since he retired, but I could call him anytime for anything, he always knew what I needed to hear.I hope im just like him.Im going to miss him so much. I know you are too, Jan. You come to Cali. any time you want. You and George A are always welcome. We love you. Love, Michelle,Jeremy,Jessie, and Serina.
