Dorothy E. Pettus, age 85, of Loretto, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at NHC Brink after an extended illness. She was a native of Lauderdale County, Ala., retired from M-Fine and a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Loretto Memorial Chapel on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at 1 p.m. Jeff Putman and Darin Atkins will be officiating. Burial will follow in Pettus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014.

Survivors are five daughters, Malee Bassham, Pensacola, Fla., Elizabeth Johnson, Lexington, Ala., Priscilla Davenport, Muscle Shoals, Ala., Connie Lamprecht (Tim), St. Joseph, Tenn., Lisa Hughes (Ed), Five Points, Tenn.; one son, Edison Pettus (Brenda), St. Joseph, Tenn.; two brothers, Billy Richardson, Greenhill, Ala., E.L. Richardson, St. Florian, Ala.; two sisters, Ruby Allen, Greenhill, Ala., Bonnie Murks, Florence, Ala.; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Snow Richardson; husband, Reeder Pettus; son, Cahill Pettus; grandson, Joe Jr. Cox; great-granddaughter, Kinley McGee; son-in-law, Lendon Davenport; sisters, Hazel Rogers, Gladys Springer, Lenice Dickerson; brother, Coy Richardson.
Loretto Memorial Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
