Jack "Jackie" Daniel Borden, age 64, of Cherokee, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. There will be a brief visitation 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and the graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Harris Chapel Cemetery. Monty Gaisser Sr. and Chuck Bradford are officiating.

Jackie served in the U.S. Army Reserve in the 883rd Quartermaster from 1966-72. He was the owner and operator of Borden Sheet Metal & Heating and Air, a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Tuscumbia and Cherokee and was a member of the Mhoontown United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Conard and Ossie Borden, and his brother, Freeman Borden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara Borden; son, Jason Borden and wife, Nicole; daughter, Jamie Wallace and husband, Michael Paul; brother, Chester Borden; sister, Diane Wallace; and three grandchildren, Layla, Lydia and Liam Wallace.
Pallbearers will be Jon Goss, Steve Worsham, Danny Elliott, Greg Waldrep, Michael Joe Waldrep and Eric Weaver.
