Julie A. Thompson

Julie Askew Thompson, 36, of Tuscumbia, Ala., entered into the perfect peace of her Heavenly Father on April 2, 2013.

She was born at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Ala. on February 23, 1977, to Lyle and Linda Askew. Julie graduated from Muscle Shoals High School and went on to receive a degree in Commercial Music at the University of North Alabama. She was married to Louis "Scott" Thompson on April 2, 1998.

Julie's life was a beautiful representation of the redeeming grace of Jesus Christ, her Savior. She was a wonderful daughter, a loving and supportive wife, a "Super-mom" to her children, as well as an endearing family member and trusted friend to so many. Julie loved her church, Grace Life Church of the Shoals, and served the Lord faithfully through it. She was a key part of the Sheffield Swim team where she spent a lot of her time supporting her three oldest children. Serving her family is what she loved most. She was commonly referred to as "super-mom" because of the way she was able to juggle so many responsibilities. Julie had a passion for music and was an accomplished musician. She loved inspiring and teaching her children in their love for music as well. Her mission was evident in the way she taught and disciplined her children, to have them love the Lord and serve Him faithfully. She did all these things to the glory of God.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Eugene Askew Sr.; and her uncle, Robert "Buddy" Askew Jr.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Scott Thompson; and five beautiful children, Isabella Nicole Thompson, 13, Rosemary Jule Thompson, 7, Oliver Scott Thompson, 6, Vivienne Simone Thompson, 2, and Anne Genevieve Thompson, 15 months, all of Tuscumbia, Ala. She is also survived by her grandparents, Homer and Carolyn Moss, of Florence, Ala., and Alma Askew, of Sheffield, Ala.; parents, Lyle and Linda Askew, of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; brother and sister-in-law, David and Natalie Askew, of Florence, Ala.; mother and father-in-law, Jimmy and Judy Thompson, of Tuscumbia, Ala.; sister-in-law and husband, Stacey and Will Sims, of Huntsville, Ala.; nieces, Esther and Vera Askew, of Florence, Ala., and Lauren and Leah Whitten and Carley Sims, of Huntsville, Ala.; and nephew, Aidan Sims, of Huntsville, Ala.; as well as many uncles; aunts; and beloved friends.

Visitation will be held at Grace Life Church of the Shoals, 1915 Avalon Ave. Muscle Shoals, AL 35661, on Saturday April 6, 2013, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The service will begin at 3 p.m. and will be officiated by Dr. Jeff Noblit and Brother Matt Fowler. Burial will follow at Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Anchored in Truth ministries, 1915 Avalon Ave. Muscle Shoals, AL 35661, in the furthering of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
