Kenneth Wayne Balentine, 61, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Morrison Funeral Home chapel.

Kenneth raised his family in Whigham, Ga., after which he returned to his native home of Waterloo, where he loved being outdoors. He especially loved fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellie and Nannie Bell Balentine; brothers, James and Robert Balentine; and sister, Norma Jean Balentine.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Fralick Balentine; daughters, Tonia and husband, James Godwin, of Waterloo, and Sandra Renell Balentine, of Waterloo; brothers, Nolan and wife, Anne Balentine, and Marvin Balentine, both of South Bend, Ind.; sisters, Shirley and husband, Joe Wood, of Rhodesville, Rachel and husband, Ray McDaniel, of Central, and Ina Pearl and late husband, James Hamm, of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman Brantly Youngman and wife, Kayla, Jessica Godwin and Christopher Godwin; special nephew and family, David and Susan Hamm, Christy, Wendy and Ginger; sister-in-law, Ollie Balentine, of Hollywood, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Morrison Funeral Home, Florence/Central Heights, is directing.
