Scott Scarbrough

Scott Scarbrough, 34, of Cherokee, died doing what he loved. He was in an automobile accident on April 16, 2013. Visitation will be Friday, noon-2 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Patrick Gunn officiating.

Scott was a hard, prideful worker and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed coaching baseball and football. The children brought him such joy. He loved to fish and hunt with his son, father-in-law, and brother-in-law. Scott was a wonderful husband, father and friend to many people.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nikki Scarbrough; and sons, Oliver Biggs Scarbrough, William Brody Dexter; and daughter, Sofia Ryan Scarbrough. He is also survived by his mother, Kima Scott Scarbrough; and father, Roney Scarbrough; and grandmother, Kay Taylor Scott.

Scott is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Oliver "Dopey" Scott, James Scarbrough; and grandmother, Ann Scarbrough; great- grandparents, Scott and Louise Taylor.

Scott was an only child but he had made family with his 'Brothers of the Hook'!

In lieu of flowers, the family is setting up a memorial in his honor at any branch of Bank Independent.
