Stanley A. Coward, age 68, of Killen, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007. Mr. Coward was preceded in death by his father, Lester Arlois Coward, and his sister, Kalah Graham.

Mr. Coward is survived by his wife, Diane Coward; his mother, Jimmie Lee Moorhead, of Pasedena, Texas; sons, Kevin Coward, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Randy Coward, of Maryville, Tenn.; sister, Glenda Kucera, of Pasedena, Texas; brother, Bill Coward, of Boerne, Texas; and grandchildren, Amanda and Cory Coward, of Hendersonville, Tenn.
Mr. Coward was born in Ralls, Texas, and moved to Smyrna, Tenn., with the U.S. Air Force. He began a career with Ford Motor Co, Nashville Glass Plant, in March of 1963. Mr. Coward retired in 1995 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Commodore Yacht Club and Cedar Creek Yacht Club in Nashville, in which he held various board and committee positions.
A "Celebration of Life" will be Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Elkins Funeral Home, Killen, Ala. Visitation will be at noon, and the service will be at 1 p.m.

The family would like to thank Bethesda Cancer Treatment Center, NW Alabama Cancer Center, ECM sixth-floor nurses and PCA's and the ECM Palliative Care Unit personnel for their excellent and compassionate care of Mr. Coward.
