William W. Montgomery

William Willard Montgomery, 85, of Tuscumbia, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 1-3 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Dwight Rivers is officiating.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ludie Rea Montgomery; parents, William Earl and Mary Etta Whitehead Montgomery; brother and sister, Thomas Leon Montgomery and Ann Montgomery.

Survivors include daughter, Patsy Rhodes (Gene);

son, Dwight Montgomery;

brother, James Montgomery (Carolyn);

sisters, Betty Lindsey and Jeanette Mayfield;

grandchildren, Donna Bragwell, Melba Morrow (David), Kelly Hulsey (Jeff), Alex Montgomery (Melissa) and Kevin Montgomery;

Five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Hulsey, David Morrow, Jerry Hulsey, Taylor Hamilton, Alex Montgomery, Kevin Montgomery, Nathan Hulsey and Josh Cochran. Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Bevis, Larry Summeral and Danny Simpson.

Mr. Montgomery was a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge No. 36 and a member of Pride Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and Secretary Treasurer for 50 years.

Patsy and Dweight I am so sorry that you lost both parents within one month of each other. They were together for all of those years and now they are together again, I know you will miss them. May God give you comfort in knowing that they are together. Love Cousin Ann Mayfield Kimbrough.
