Mary Howell Jackson, 79, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014.

Mary was born in Hamilton, Alabama, and was a graduate of Hamilton High School. She later was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She was a first-grade teacher in the Russellville City School system and retired from there after 33 years of teaching. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Russellville. Mary loved gardening and loved beautiful flowers.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with the funeral to be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Fulton Bridge Church Cemetery in Hamilton, Alabama.
Survivors include husband, Gerald Jackson; sisters, Enice Howell Turner, Wetumpka, Alabama, Louise Howell Smith, Trussville, Alabama; brother, Bryan Howell, Gardendale, Alabama; nephews, Reagan Howell (Betty), Gardendale, Alabama, John Howell, Washougal, Washington, Fred Gault (Norma), Chattanooga, Tennessee, Neal Turner Jr., (Laurie), Montgomery, Alabama, Mark Smith (Lynn), Birmingham, Alabama, Jay Smith (Vickie), Birmingham, Alabama; nieces, Martha Turner Jackson, Montgomery, Alabama, Deborah Smith Scott (Wayne), Chattanooga, Tennessee, Beverly Howell Deal (Richard), Sheffield, Alabama; several grand-nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by parents, Rufus Bryan Howell and Alice Dill Howell, brother, Bobby Howell, sisters, Eunice Howell Gault, and Jeanette Howell, and nephew, Tommy Smith.
