Melvin Eugene Ligon, age 73, of Muscle Shoals, died Saturday, May 24, 2014. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, May 27, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.

Mr. Ligon was born on June 9, 1940, to Noble Lennon and Burtrice Crittenden Ligon. Mr. Ligon served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from Reynolds Metals Company as an aluminum worker. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tuscumbia.
Mr. Ligon was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Reba Woods.
Survivors include wife, Mary Ann Ligon; sons, Adam Ligon (Regina), Gregory Ligon (Marilyn), and Matthew Ligon (Margie); sister, Deborah Whitten; and grandchildren, Emma, John and Noble Ligon.
