Shirley Jean South, age 83, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
Her family will receive friends, today, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Howell Bigham officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mrs. South was a Colbert County native and former owner of Fashionette Salon in Tuscumbia for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Curtis South Sr., and mother, Tommie Hargett Cecil Beasley, father, William Chester Cecil, and stepfather, Walter Howard Beasley.
She is survived by her sons, Roy Curtis South Jr. and wife, Lawana, of Evans, Georgia, and James Howard South Sr. and wife, Donna, of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Amanda South Landers, of Tuscumbia, Jim South and wife, Mandy, of Muscle Shoals, Heather South, of Fletcher, North Carolina, and Amber South, of Charlotte North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Landers, Logan Landers, Ellie South, and Reese South; and brother, Chester Dean Cecil and wife, Barbara, of Savannah, Georgia.
Pallbearers are Dwain Clement, Greg Clement, Roger Clement, Bubba Lindley, Tony Holland, and Bill Tompkins.
