Mr. William N. Brewer Jr. was born September 22, 1946, to the late Mr. William N. Brewer Sr. and Mrs. Margaret Todd Brewer. He transitioned to his heavenly rest on July 7, 2014. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia, member and past president of the Brotherhood Choir, Mass Choir and member of the Round to It Sunday school class.

William graduated from Burrell Slater High School, Class of 1964. He attended college at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. He served two years in the United States Army, with a twelve-month tour of duty in Vietnam, after which he received an honorable discharge.
He moved to Detroit, Michigan, and was employed with the City of Detroit as a firefighter, retiring after seventeen years of service. He moved back to Alabama in 1990, and was employed for nineteen years as chemical laboratory technician with Occidental Chemical, Muscle Shoals, Alabama. William's hobbies were crappie fishing and bowling. He and his dad spent many long days on Coffee Slough and other spots, bonding while fishing. He was an avid bowler, as well, competing in tournaments across the United States.
William leaves to cherish his memories his loving, dedicated and caring wife of twenty-three years, Mrs. Patricia Ricks Brewer, Sheffield, Alabama; five sons: Williams, Darryl, Rashaad (Helen), John, all of Detroit, Michigan, and Victor (Sonya), of Florence; one stepson, Randy (Cynthia) Byrd, Huber Heights, Ohio; one daughter, Latonya Gray, Coatsville, Pennsylvania; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Byrd, of Gautier, Mississippi. His mother, Mrs. Margaret Brewer, Florence, Alabama. Seventeen grandchildren, two-great grandchildren. Two brothers, Mr. Edward (Faye) Brewer, Maryville, Tennessee, Mr. Robert (Allean) Brewer, Florence, Alabama; brother-in-law, Mr. Dillard Ricks Jr., Tuscumbia, Alabama. Four sisters: Ms. Evelyn Wills and Ms. Ovetta Simmons, both of Florence, Alabama, Ms. Ezzie Brewer, Romulus, Michigan, and Mrs. Elaine (John) Brewer, of Ypsilanti, Michigan. One godson, Mr. James (Carolyn) Davis, Prattville, Alabama, a devoted fishing buddy, Mr. Ray Eggleston, Muscle Shoals, other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service for Mr. Brewer will be 12 Noon Monday, July 7, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, Alabama, with Rev. Otis B. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Shoals Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia, Alabama. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to the
