Larry William Augustin, age 84, of Loretto, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, after a long illness. He was a native of Lawrence County, a veteran of the Korean War, a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a life-long member of the Loretto Sacred Heart Church. He married Loice Kerstiens and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Larry was the manager and president of Augustin Lumber Company, a business started by his grandfather, W.H. Augustin, in 1900. Larry retired after working there for 47 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard G. Augustin and Helen O'Connor Augustin, a brother, Pat Augustin, and a sister, Doris Nell Burch.
He is survived by his wife, Loice Kerstiens Augustin. Also survived by three daughters, Jeanette Newton (Mike), Sherry Kimbrel (Mike), and Lynn Clifton (Carl); one son, Wayne Augustin (Pat); one sister, Angela Brewer; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Loretto Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Loretto Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Sacred Heart Church, Loretto, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, with Father Luckas and Deacon Sammy Beckman officiating.
Family suggests memorials be made to Loretto Sacred Heart School.
Interment will follow at Loretto Sacred Heart Cemetery.
