Darlene Franklin, age 55, of Killen, formerly of Waynesville, N.C., died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Helen Keller Hospital in Tuscumbia, Ala.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, in the chapel of Elkins East Chapel in Center Star. Ashley Pettus will officiate. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Leroy Inman. She loved taxidermy, stained glass, carving eggs and anything to do with crafts. Mrs. Franklin also loved her animals and her farm. She was known as "Mam" by all her grandchildren.
Mrs. Franklin is survived by her husband, Danny Franklin, of Killen; her daughter, Faith Inman Woods and husband, Brian, of Canton, N.C.; her son, Daniel Todd Franklin and wife, Wendy, of Killen; her mother, Elmina Coward Inman, of Killen; her sister, Dianne Messer, of Waynesville, N.C.; her brothers, Ronnie Inman and Billy Messer, both of Waynesville, N.C; her grandchildren, Jessica Franklin, Bronson Rose, Chayton Rose, Gracelynn Woods, Jonathan Woods, and was looking forward to one grandchild on the way.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Killen/Center Star Ambulance Service.
