N. Jean Eckles
The Guest Book is expired.
N. Jean Eckles passed away from this life of pain and suffering to the ultimate resting place with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 30, 2013. Jean suffered for two years with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a large part of that time was bed ridden.
She graduated from Alverson School of Business and was employed as a bookkeeper and worked at various places throughout her life's career. Jean was preceded in death by her son, Danny Taylor, of Tuscumbia; her parents, the Rev. Leonard Bud and Verna Isbell, of Russellville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Olene and Horace Clement, Vivian and Howard Shelton and June and Harley Murry, all of Russellville; grandson, Rodney Taylor; and two infant granddaughters.
Jean is survived by her loving husband, Charles Eckles; two daughters, Brenda Thomas and husband, Chic, Sandy Faber; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Abundant Grace Church in Sheffield. We want to thank our precious Pastor, Brother Steve Pochop. For two years of Jean's illness he came on a weekly basis and prayed with and for her, sang the old gospel songs that Jean has sung with her dad and sisters years ago. He would also bring her a CD of his Sunday sermons, which she looked forward to and loved listening to. It was if he was bringing church to her each week. What he shared with us weekly brought us closer to the Lord in our time of need. We thank you again, Pastor Steve for the happiness you brought my wife and the faith you restored in me (Charlie Eckles). We also want to thank Hospice of Tennessee Valley for all their care and compassion, especially April Daniel, Tina Bryan, Kay Holt and Jeff Hornbuckle.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2013, from noon until 1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. Her service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Pochop officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Pallbearers are Bill and Jimmy Eckles, the Rev. Bobby Adair, Rusty and Chace Taylor, Robbie Williford, Raymond Clement and Mike Hall.
Honorary pallbearers are Bill and Ruby Parrish and Joy Byars.
