CASTLE, Gloria Maxine Tyree, 67, died Friday, October 17, 2008, at her home in Aylett, Va. Born in her beloved Nelson County July 26, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Herman O. and Nettie Lawhorn Tyree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Arthur; and one sister, Georgia Dunn. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Flanigan (Tom) of Florida and Kathy Saumier (Lonnie), and a son, James, all of Michigan; grandchildren, Kristen and Lonnie Jr. Saumier and Caleb Flanigan; one great-grandchild, Taron Diehl; several nieces and nephews, one great-niece; brothers, Herman O. Tyree (Mary Catherine) and Homer Tyree, all of Mechanicsville; and her extended family, Joe and Donna Balsinger. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home in Roseland, Rte. 7661 Patrick Henry Hwy., (434) 277-5194, with burial in Jonesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of funeral on Wednesday. The family wishes to thank Dr. John Mueller and Kim Riley, of Henrico Doctors' East, of Parham, for their loving care.

Like so many others, I too worked with Gloria at Franklin Federal for several years - she was a grand lady! One of my favorite people! She will be missed but the comfort is knowing she is now with her Lord and Savoir.
