HATCH, Rev. William I. Sr., of Richmond, departed this life June 4, 2010. He pastored several churches within the Virginia Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion denomination. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Ella Hatch; four daughters, Barbara H. Hendricks, Deborah H. Marrow, Dr. Patricia D. Hatch and Yvonne H. Squire; three sons, William Jr., Rev. Steven and Glenn Hatch, 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Rev. Sarah Gholson; one brother, Samuel Hatch; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Robin Hatch; four sons-in-law, Alfred Stewart, Jerome Hendricks, Davis Marrow and Kenneth Squire; four sisters-in-law, Ruth and Mary Hatch and Thelma McDowell and Rev. Alice Gasque; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon, at Hood Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, 16 W. Clay Street, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Kevin McGill, pastor, officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45 a.m. Friday. Online condolences can be made at: www.jenkinsjr.com.
