Alvin Jiggetts

JIGGETTS, Alvin Roosevelt, 83, of South Hill, Va., was welcomed home on Thursday, December 23, 2010. He was born to the late Thomas and Viola Farrar Jiggetts on September 8, 1927, in South Hill, Va., and was married to the late Gladys L. Cypress. Alvin is survived by two children, Alvin Randolph Jiggetts of Richmond and Veronica (Ronnie) Jiggetts Smith of Highland Springs; one sister, Ali Mae Middough of Bronx, N.Y.; one daughter-in-law, Norma R. Jiggetts of Richmond; one son-in-law, Elroy Smith of Richmond; one devoted nephew, Bobby Jiggetts of South Hill; a devoted granddaughter, Tanglia Watkins-Deavers of Richmond; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a devoted caregiver, Mary Branch; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at Trinity Episcopal Church, South Hill, Va., with The Rev. Dr. Terrence A. Walker, priest-in-charge, officiating. Viewing will be 12 noon until 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Services entrusted to the staff of The Oris P. Jones Funeral Establishment, South Hill, Va.
