James Kingsberry Obituary

KINGSBERRY, Mr. James Henry "Redd," of 311 N. 30th St., departed this life August 29, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Alma L. Kingsberry; son, Kenneth "Scotty" Kingsberry; daughter, Teresa Kingsberry; three grandchildren, Tyquwan, Kentrell and Ny'Asia; one goddaughter, Renee Robinson; one sister, Carolyn Gibbs; two uncles, Sim and Arthur Kingsberry; one aunt, Van Kingsberry; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. Remains will lie in state Friday, 12 noon, at St. Paul's Baptist Church, 4247 Creighton Rd., where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Rev. Dr. Lance D. Watson, senior pastor, Rev. John Kinney, officiating. Burial Forest Lawn Cemetery.

To Aunt Alma, Teresa, Scotty, and Family

As we knew him, not James but Red, always seem to have a joke in his head. They were honest, bold, tricky not cold. You would hear his line, then think what he said, then you’d comeback and say, “ah come on Red”.

So family, as you grieve and grieve you must, remember the all the smiles and laughts that Red gave us. Remember the reactions to his tales, hold them close when all else fails. Love the life that he loved so much, so shall we …family…Us.

May the Lord continue to comfort you. Our payers and thoughts are with you.
