Shirley Davis

DAVIS, Shirley, 75, of Smith Mountain Lake, Va., formerly of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 19, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill Davis. She was a devoted mother to her four children, Kathy Banton, Billy, Kenny and Michael Davis. She was an adoring grandmother to her six grandchildren, Jimmy Banton Jr., Stephanie Hoppin, Megan Banton, Alaina Rauth, Jared Davis and McKenzie Davis; one stepgrandchild, Michael Brookfield; three great-grandchildren, Jimmy Banton III, Katelyn Banton and Logan Hoppin. Shirley was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She touched everyone's heart that knew her. She devoted her life to the Lord as the organist and choir director at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church for over 40 years. The family will receive friends Sunday (today) from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment Dale Memorial Park.
