HARRELL, James Andrew, 89, of Petersburg, died Friday, September 24, 2010 at his daughter's residence. He was born May 13, 1921 in Sussex County Virginia, to the late Olin Tilton Harrell and Effie Lura Major Harrell Wallace and was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mae Fitts Harrell; sister, Thelma Welch; brothers, Major Harrell, Howard Harrell, Olin Harrell Jr., and Frank Harrell. Mr. Harrell was a retired Senior Chief Petty Officer and a World War II United States Navy veteran. He is survived by son, E. Wayne Harrell and wife, Marie of Unionville, Virginia; daughter, Anita H. Bourlier and husband, Tommy of Prince George, Virginia; grandchildren, Shannon H. Bousselaire and husband, Mike of Glen Allen, Virginia, Wendi H. Hughes and husband, Nathan of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Jonathan P. Bourlier and wife, Amber of Appomattox, Virginia; great- grandchildren, Jason Bousselaire, Grace Bousselaire, Dylan Hughes, Hannah Hughes, Carter Hughes; sisters, Dorothy McDowell, Beatrice Padgett, Loretta Lucy, Elizabeth Peck; brothers, Alvin and Edward Harrell, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in the Petersburg Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, 23803, with the Reverend Ron Hopkins officiating. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday September 27, 2010 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
