I met Mr. Heyward in 2001 during a brief stent working with Beers -Hayward-Lee as a consultant. Even though it was a short period of time, Mr. Heyward was impressive with both his kind professional manner and the way he carried himself as a southern gentlemen. I felt that having met him, I had seen a true and genuine southern man of great grace. I miss the fact that he is not still amoung us showing us how to be.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Heyward once back in 1987. It was certainly a pleasure to meet a fellow Citadel compadre. He was a fine gentleman. I want to extend my sympathies to the Heyward family but more expecially to Wayne. Wayne has been my friend for many years and I wanted to say buddy, I understand what you are going through right now. Please accept my humble condolences. Wayne, please contact me sometime soon.
With deepest sympathies and warmest regards-

I ate some Bjuffton oysters for Uncle Al on the 17th. I'm glad he'll be coming home. No more words are needed.

It is with heartfelt sadness that I read of Mr. Heyward's passing. I have very fond memories of working for him at Heyward Construction for 15 years. Mr. Heyward was a kind and genteel man, a true Southern Gentleman. He made coming to work those 15 years a pleasure, and was more like a father than a boss. It's with a tear in my eye that I say he will be greatly missed, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I had the pleasure of working for Mr. Heyward in the early 90's at Heyward & Lee Construction. He was hard-working, warm, and personable. He will be missed. Warm wishes and condolences to his family, Rian Campbell
