RYAN, Anna Stump, 86, formerly of Richmond, Va., passed away in Williamsburg on Saturday, October 31, 2009. She was born in Richmond on January 11, 1923 to the late Dr. and Mrs. Claude Emmett Stump and Iva Rutledge Stump. The widow of Robert Emmett Ryan, she is survived by her son, Robert of Henrico, Va.; her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and John Cole of Toano, Va.; her grandson, Charlie Cole of Winchester, Va.; and her sister, Catherine S. Grubbs of Henrico, Va. Anna was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Women's College and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. A graveside service will be held in Richmond at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 213 McLaws Circle, Suite 2B, Williamsburg, Va. 23185, or Hospice Community Care, 1064 Loftis Blvd., Suite C-2, Newport News, Va. 23606.

Connie, John & Charlie,

Mike and I are so sorry to hear about the death of your mother. Losing someone you love is never easy, but it's even harder when it's your last parent. I know that you have wonderful memories and I hope they come to mind often. You are all in my thought and prayers.
