BELFIELD, Arlene Thompson "Connie," of Richmond, went home to be with the Lord March 3, 2012. She was an active member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, Doswell, Va. She received a B.S. degree from West Virginia State University in Social Work and a master's degree in Social Work from VCU. She retired from the city of Richmond after 30 years of dedicated work in Behavior Health. Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Tasha Pope (Curtis); son, Marcus Belfield (Shenise); her mother, Rachel Q. Thompson; two sisters, Loretta Y.Thompson and Stephanie T. Watkins (Kenneth); two brothers, William H. Thompson Jr. and Gregory O. Thompson (Cheryl); four grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the F.E. Dabney Funeral Home, Ashland. Homegoing service will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at the Jerusalem Baptist Church, 16210 Short Cut Rd., Doswell. Rev. Dr. E. Richard Swan, pastor, officiating. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday (tonight) from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations at www.Komen.org.
