Bernard F. HILL

HILL, Bernard F., of Crewe, widower of Betty Jean Hill, passed away at his home in Crewe, Va. on Thursday, November 12, 2009, his 78th birthday. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Millard F. and Carrie M. Hill; his sister, Margaret H. Martin; and brother, Richard E. Hill. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn H. Clougherty and husband, Emmett, of Manakin-Sabot, Va., and Ann H. Brown and husband, Thomas H. Brown, of Blackstone, Va.; grandchildren, Erin S. Leadbetter of Richmond, Thomas H. Brown Jr., and E. Caitlin Brown of Blackstone; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Alton R. Hill and wife, Joanne, of Amelia, and Billy W. Hill and wife, Violet, of Richmond. Bernard was an Army veteran of the Korean War, Norfolk & Western retiree, carpenter, and avid outdoorsman, having been a longterm member of Little Creek Hunt Club. The family will receive friends at Jennings-McMillian Funeral Home, 200 W. Carolina Ave., Crewe, Va., 23930, the evening of Saturday, November 14, from 7 to 8:30. Graveside services to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crewe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Va. 23060 or Nottoway County Rescue Squad, P.O.
