Blanche Matthews

MATTHEWS, Blanche Tucker, 90, of Henrico County, passed away Friday, December 4, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Matthews; and her beloved son, Jimmy Matthews. Blanche is survived by her son, Bob A. Matthews; daughter, Jane M. Spence (Charles); grandchildren, Julie Nelson, Johnny Matthews (Shayne), Mary Matthews, David Matthews (Katie), and Jennifer Lehman (Fred); five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Hunter and Bailey; and several nieces and nephews. Blanche was retired from Virginia Department of Taxation with over 30 years of service, and a member of Broadus Memorial Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va., where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
