Carl Smith

SMITH, Carl Otto Rev., Richmond, departed this life November 21, 2009. He was the former pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Powhatan, Virginia and Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Hanover, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nannie F. Smith; and two sons, Columbus O. Smith, and Carl Smith Jr. He is survived by one daughter, Wanda Chambliss; two sons, Milton A. Smith, and Baris C. Smith; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verdena Wells, and Mary Dudley; one brother, Harry Smith; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Tonya Talley-Smith, and Louise Smith; one son-in-law, Robert L. Chambliss Jr.; several sisters and brothers-in-law and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and where the funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m., Rev.
