Catherine Reekes HARRIS

HARRIS, Mrs. Catherine Reekes, 91, of Kenbridge, Va., died on October 28, 2009. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, John Willie Harris; a son, Willie Maurice Harris; and a sister, Mildred R. Queen. She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte H. Wrigglesworth of Kenbridge, and Nancy H. Bishop of Blackstone; her grandson, James E. Wrigglesworth Jr. and wife, Wendy; her great-grandson, Battle Wrigglesworth, all of Wilmington, N.C.; and her daughter-in-law, Dolores C. Harris of South Hill. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Kenbridge Christian Church. She and her husband operated Roby's Store in Kenbridge from 1948 to 1968. They then purchased the store and renamed it the J. W. Harris Store which they operated until 1979. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday in the Oakwood Cemetery in South Hill. The family will receive friends at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
