AYCOCK, Charlie Murphy, 88, of Hopewell went to join The Lord and his loving wife on Friday, April 25, 2008. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruby Lee Aycock; an infant son; grandson, Michael Barricks; and brothers, William E. Aycock, Richard Macon Aycock, David Dempsy Aycock, and Paul Bradley Aycock. He was a devoted member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and was an avid gardener. He is survived by two sons, Glen Aycock (Paulette) and Charles Lee Aycock (Dell); three daughters, Faye Barricks (Buddy), Linda Miller (Marcus, Sr.), and Janice Walker Smith; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel Irene White; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave., Hopewell. Funeral Services will be held at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Hendricks officiating. Interment will be at Southlawn Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church or the Hopewell Emergency Crew.
