Charlotte Carr Obituary

CARR, Charlotte Ray, 87, of Midlothian, Virginia and formerly of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on November 11, 2010, after a long illness. Mrs. Carr was known for her love of family and friends, her generosity, and her welcoming personality. She enjoyed attending church, cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events, good meals, meeting new people, lively conversation, but most of all, spending time with her family. Mrs. Carr was born on February 13, 1923, in Mountain City, Tennessee, and took pride in her southern heritage. Mrs. Carr was the only child of the late Carl H. Wilson and Blanche Gail Reece Wilson. She married Duane Richard "Dick" Carr in Washington, D.C. in 1949, to whom she was wed for 33 years until his death in 1982. Mrs. Carr is survived by her daughter, Sharon Laporte of Carlsbad, California; her son, D. Gregory Carr and his wife, Claire, of Midlothian, Virginia; her grandchildren, Angela Hunter and her husband, Michael, Bradley Laporte, Allison Carr and Samuel Carr. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 16, at 1 p.m. at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, Va. A memorial service in Richmond will be held on Wednesday, November 17, at 4 p.m. at Salisbury Presbyterian Church, 13621 West Salisbury Road, Midlothian, Va.
