I still remember the shock and sense of tremendous loss I felt when Shirley called me the morning of her passing. I feel so fortunate that for some reason only He knows I made that dreaded trip into Richmond to work that evening, and spent the better part of my shift trying to speak with her. I am so glad I called her on my way home to hear of her latest travel tales. Nurseline was never the same after she left us suddenly. Vickie Gey

One year has passed and we all still have a vacant space in our hearts. I truly miss our evening conversations and her gentle, positive guidance she gave me as my manager. She is missed today and will always be missed.

I'm writing this just after midnight, June 30th. It is my Charlotte's Birthday. We shared something in common... talkers that is. In contrast, she was always calm, more soft spoken and I won't elaborate on how much more intelligent. Yet my words can not express my broken heart from loosing her. It is true that not everyone will birth children of their own and not every child will feel loved by their birth mother. But what I have learned is that no one can say or do anything to take away what's inside of your heart. I can speak for the entire family that she will be forever missed from my 92 yr old grandmother who loved her dearly down to my 3 year old Ronald "Holden" with precious memories of her at his birth. Unfortunately, we have no control over the some events that occur in our lives, but if we open our hearts we can learn from persons with a gentle heart such as Charlottes. I love you Charlotte and wish you where still here.

Charlotte: Your father and mine worked together at the post office, and your mother punched my lunched card for 7 years at AES. Although I did not get to know you personally, I always looked up to you as someone who worked hard, and had good work ethics. I am sorry that you were taken so suddenly, but I pray that those who were in your extended family will know that you were much loved in your hometown.

Although Charlotte was not married and had no children, she had a wealth of good friends. She was a great friend (since kindergarten) and she was loyal and generous, sometimes to those who didn't deserve it.
I am proud to have been her friend and honored to have shared her life. I will miss her terribly.

Charlotte was a joy to talk to, and she had the most wonderful, engaging style of conversation. I am honored to have had the privilege to work with Charlotte, an exemplary southern lady and a consummate professional. I am so sorry for our loss.

Charlotte always had a good story to tell, had a mischievous gleam in her eye, was quick to laugh at a good story from her friends and collegues, was raised up from the "common sense" approach to the Science and Art of Nursing. Her colleagues at NurseLine will miss her and cherish the memories and webs she wove. May God Bless you and keep your loved ones safe in His Arms.

I will always remember the wonderful times we played at your home in
Appomattox as young children. Also all the fishing trips our families
took with the Booths, Stanleys, and Hancocks. Sorry we had lost touch in the last few years. All my sympathy and love to all your close family
and friends in their loss of such a lovely family member and friend.

I send my condolences. Charlotte was my Manager when I worked Nurse line on night shift. I moved to Quality Monitoring. Charlotte helped me when I was trying to make decisions about my career there. She was always willing to listen and help you sort things out. She is a great loss to us all.
